If You're an Author, You Have to Write Books?

Heartbreak, Humor … and, ultimately, Hope

That’s the message in my #1 Amazon Bestseller, My Pineapples Went to Houston. It is my tale of how I used humor to break through a full decade of “shock and awfulness.” Briefly (you can read the details in the book), in 2002 my father died, my mother sank into a deep depression that kept her on the brink of a coma and to top it all off, my husband of 22 years secretly lost all our money and ran off with a former stripper. And, things actually went downhill from there! These experiences reminded me to NEVER lose my sense of humor. For the rest of the story, including lessons I’ve learned and all the unexpected good that was waiting for me at the end of my tragic trail of tears, click below to purchase the book. The second edition has already won a Maincrest Media Award for Memoir Writing as well as Best Books Awards Finalist from American BookFest.

“Wisdom and humor—a great combination!”

Optimism With a Side of Snarkiness

If that’s how you roll, this is my book for you! I may be a recognized “Bounce Back” expert (unless I’m not wearing eye liner, in which case I often go unrecognized), known for looking on the bright side and finding the silver lining in dark clouds, but sometimes the best way to part the dark clouds and discover the sunshine is by way of a mild rant or musing on the myriad irritations of modern life. I cut through those clouds with the razor of “snarkasm,” to help readers find the sunny side of life again. I’m so proud to say that this just-for-fun romp through life’s up and downs has garnered four awards.

“LAUGH OUT LOUD FUNNY! Lee Gaitan is hilarious”
“Unremitting Hilarity”
“Delightful, relatable fun!”

An Oldie, But a Goodie. Like Me!

This one, my very first book, was published way back in the last century and was a humorous take on my post-baby, midlife years. I addressed the anguish inherent in transitioning from matching underwear ensembles to sensible footwear and the morphing of my upper arms into bat wings. But laughter once again proved the most effective (and cheaper than cosmetic surgery) remedy. Times have changed since the ‘90s, but, as they say, the more things change, the more they stay the same. So if you are a midlifer in the 21st century, you will relate to many of the issues I confront in this book. P.S. It’s the book that made Jeff Foxworthy say, “Lee Potts is hilarious.”

“This is an absolute humor classic!”
“Get ready to laugh!!!”
“Funny and relatable”
